EURO-FANTASY '84
Follow me, all ye super-freaks. Let us wade through the billowing mists and emerge on the other side, beyond the illuminated gateway, and into Europe. 1984. Close your eyes, open your ears and enter your own personal fantasia. Then open your eyes again and watch these incredible music videos. Taste Town Mixtape →
Hi All, I resign from my post here at 100 Days (for now) with a little prezzy for ya’ll. Click on the header for a download of a mixtape I put together featuring my favorite jams of the summer. Its not really disco, but bangers of their own right- a blend of Dubstep, Cumbia, Kuduro, Baltimore Club, Dancehall, and other hybrid club sounds. Haters of my last post might want to skip through...

Fool's Gold - Surprise Hotel (2009)
This band has been generating a lot of hype lately, and gauging from this amazing single, they certainly deserve it. Only issue is, they hail from seasonless L.A., and mistakenly are releasing this would-be summer jam in the fall. Minor details I guess. Check it out: Fool’s Gold - Surprise Hotel (2009) Oh and other hot newness from Ernest Greene, AKA Washed Out. MDMA anyone? Washed...

A Very Special Day
Today is a very special day for many of us here at 100 Days of Disco. Just about everyone one of us have some sort of connection to Chances. We have DJ’ed, organized, danced, met, and celebrated here, at one of Chicago’s most fantastic gatherings of the strange and the fun-loving, the and queer. This Monday, Chances will celebrate its 4th birthday! We can’t tell you how crazy/good...

Farewell post
Hi Guys, I spent the last hour and a half reading the exciting developments on this blog, where I have struggled unsuccessfully to develop a passion for disco sounds, as it comes around to the issues that are central to my appreciation of dance music.  My favorite dance musics are largely contemporary, based in multiple countries/continents, and facilitated by internet relationships.  I made a...

Jackie Moore - This Time Baby
One of my fav. disco beats of ALL TIME!  Jackie Moore did a lot of soul/r&b but turned her style into a huge disco jam in the late 70’s. In 2005, Freemasons remixed this classic with more of a disco house vibe.  Reminds me a lot of how MJB’s last album was so heavily influenced by disco. - Davey

Slapping Diplo with the Stanky Leg
So, the videos of Flying Lotus’ “Parisian Goldfish” and Major Lazer’s “Pon De Floor” posted a couple days ago got me thinkin’….whoa, did those make me feel weird in the inside parts. I’m glad I investigated though, since I’ve been ignoring a lot of new dance music lately. I don’t always jive well with the frenetic,...

Crazy Ass Videos
So, admittedly, this hasn’t been the most disco-heavy summer for me- my ears tuned to more contemporary sounds. Major Lazer has been rocking non-stop since it dropped early in the summer. One of my favorite moments of the new Diplo/Switch enterprise has to be the “Pon De Floor” video directed by Eric Wareheim of Tim & Eric Awesome Show featuring some of Jamaica’s top...

Jimi Polo - Better Days (1989)
Missed my day the other day but making up for it now! A late 80’s disco inspired jam — really feeling the 90’s club vibe this has mixed with 70’s disco piano. — this was also remixed by Lo-Fi-Fnk on Kitsune Maison xoxo Davey

Back in Chicago from week long stay in Boston.  On my way to night school at the Burlington.  In between: DUBBED OUT DISCO GOLD!  Slow burning heat from Larry Levan and a band he worked with named Man Friday… Plus Italo crooner disco bonus… Love Alex
