So, admittedly, this hasn’t been the most disco-heavy summer for me- my ears tuned to more contemporary sounds. Major Lazer has been rocking non-stop since it dropped early in the summer. One of my favorite moments of the new Diplo/Switch enterprise has to be the “Pon De Floor” video directed by Eric Wareheim of Tim & Eric Awesome Show featuring some of Jamaica’s top daggering dancers in a psychedelic Peewee’s Playhouse style animation. Well, that video, as amazing as it is, led us to this even crazier new video by Wareheim. So, maybe you’ve seen this, maybe not, this shit is NOT SAFE FOR WORK. Quite a snappy little jam by Flying Lotus as well. A hot mess of the finest degree, enjoy:

It’s all about all things Latin flavored around here these days. Charanga 76 was a Cuban group out of New York in the mid 70’s. Lest not forget the Latin influence in disco, which grew up side by side in New York with salsa music. Congas and handclaps, tight.
